5.0 out of 5 stars The Civil Rights movement is one that we must remember for all time!

This book explains about black history to children in a number of ways. The author’s writings demonstrate how 15 Civil Rights leaders in a peaceful, assertive manner, exert power signifying equal rights for all in the United States. This is what the nation had originally intended for all of its citizens.
I really enjoyed reading this children’s biography book for ages 8-12, because it explains the life story of each leader, and what they did to empower this movement going forward in a positive way. At the end of each life story there are additional notes to give the reader additional information on each leader’s bio.
The pages seem to almost turn themselves, due to the fast-paced stories. The stories are educational and historically relevant to present day for race relations and progress. The messages from this book about black history for children uplift children of all races in our country.
